.) Do not open attachments in e-chain: Many people open files sent by strangers, relatives or friends. Many of them say PPTs that will make you a more humane and sensitive person and a role model and a millionaire and a thousand other things. But, you can really be opening and installing a virus on the local network. Never, send it your boss.
.) Do not download programs from the Internet ... Even more so if your computer knowledge is limited. If you need to do something that does not allow programs to be installed, it is best to consult with the respective area. It's cheaper to buy one or more licenses, which fight viruses and Trojans.
.) Back up your information in one place: Save thousands of hours having a good system to back up your important documents and other material from your hard drive. Use a system to restore the information you need with a key, which is not fully automatic.
.) If you change computer, change the hard drive: Every year, the feedback of millions of hard disks are left at random. Companies do not even have a policy of low-level formatted discs that are discarded or sold at the secondary market. Confidential information can easily result to spreading in thousands of different locations, online or across the world.
.) Update your antivirus: Most of these programs do it automatically. Program at least once a week, your antivirus program that downloads the latest updates with the latest listings of viruses, malware and Trojans.
.) Beware of mailing lists: sensitive information like payroll of a company ends up in the mailing list of your office. You cannot imagine the damage it can cause for a mail that arrives at the wrong mailbox. Always check who you send an email with sensitive information, secret or privileged, especially if you send to a group of people. Some information should never be sent by e-mail.
